The first ever Miami Seed, Food, and Wine Festival was held Thursday October 16th to Sunday October 19th at the Miami Midtown Tents in Midtown, Miami. Vegan celebrities shared their philosophies of eating, amidst booths of delicious food, drinks, and desserts from vegan merchants and festival sponsors like Whole Foods and Greenbar Kitchen.
The festival benefited Farm Sanctuary and Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine. And, charities were not the only ones to benefit from this kind festival. Guest were greeted with a black tote bag adorned with white eco-friendly message such as “NO Limits” and “RAW is Beautiful,” complimentary of organic protein bar maker 22 Days Nutrition. Inside the tote bag was a wine glass, festival booklet, free samples of almond butter. The wine glass was filled by servers at booths with drinks ranging from Grey Goose and fruit juice cocktails, ginger and chocolate beers to apple cider and coconut water.
Alternating between the drink booths were various food vendors giving samples. Innerfueled, which is a vegan food delivery service, was serving up a delicious three-part sample of butternut squash, veggie loaf, and onion jam. Best of all was the walnut, butternut squash, curry, and ginger soup from the Greenbar & Kitchen. Other delights included lavender and mint home-made lotions from Elysian Health Foods, gelato from Eccolo Pops, flavored Coconutter from Sweet Spreads, and unique vegan jams from Jammy Yummy.
Vegan celebrities drew long-lines of fans waiting for a chance to meet them. Alicia Silverstone actress, animal activist and author of “The Kind Diet” was signing books, talking to fans, and talking pictures. She drew the longest lines of fans, eager to get a signed copy of her new book, “The Kind Mama.” John Sallley, retired NBA player, wellness advocate and vegan wine owner, was giving motivational talks including topics such as improving food in the school systems.
